Meconet’s history dates back over one hundred years. What we are today is the result of long-term development. The mindset and values of a family business have always guided our daily life. Nevertheless, as we are all part of a larger whole, our operation is also strongly governed by external factors and requirements.
Looking into the future, the global trends are clearly visible for all. For example, climate change, digitalization and the changes of globalization are part of both today and the future, whatever the field. We have to respond to changes taking place in the world and do our best under the circumstances at any given time.

Our growth strategy has been updated
Our fresh strategy for 2023–2027 is the roadmap towards our goals. The emphasis is on our long history and the experiences acquired, the current situation, the assumptions about the future and, naturally, the owners’ will regarding the development of the company.
None of us knows what the world will look like in five years. Even if goals and background assumptions were recorded in the strategy, we can only surmise what will come. Nevertheless, being prepared and making preparations through various scenarios is the responsible way to act. The key is more regular evaluation of strategic orientation under rapidly changing market conditions and maintaining the long-term perspective in the implementation.

We believe to be going in the right direction. Our experiences acquired over the long years provide a footing that makes us an even more useful partner for our customers in the future.

Green transition to drive Meconet’s growth
For a long time, we have invested in the skills of our personnel and in modern technology. We are determined to remain at the forefront of development of our field, which obliges us to evolve. As our latest investment in technology, we acquired a new servo-controlled deep-drawing press for our Äänekoski plant.
We have yet to discover all the capabilities the new servo press line. This is one of our objectives under the new product development project, and we are also asking our customers for ideas and suggestions. Innovations and even completely new industries challenge us to evolve and develop. This means, among other things, offering design support to our customers and finding solutions to challenges encountered.

The green transition is strongly here now and in the future, whatever the field. The world must become more sustainable. We see that Meconet’s future consists in firmly supporting the green transition and developing our operations in an increasingly responsible direction. It is also a precondition for our competitiveness and therefore one of the growth drivers according to our new strategy.
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint significantly in the years to come. Our goal is to halve the carbon footprint of our own operations in 2025 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. In addition to this, we want to introduce increasingly better solutions to the market, which in turn contribute to reducing our customers’ carbon footprint. Once again, we are stronger together with our customers.
A picture says more than mere words do
If not converted into action, a strategy is essentially useless. This is why we wanted our new strategy to be available in the image form as well. It shows a comprehensive overview of Meconet’s business in the coming years.
The strategy has been elaborated extensively together with our personnel. It is important for the jointly created strategy to be understandable to our entire personnel, as well as to our customers and other stakeholders. We hope that the image will facilitate achievement of this objective.

Many things will certainly change in five years, but the starting point for the new strategy period of sustainable growth is now clearly visible. We are aiming for a turnover of €100 million by the end of the strategy period, which means significant growth.
The objective is achievable, but requires loads of hard work. Achieving it means that we can help our customers to be more successful while undergoing sustainable growth. In our opinion, it is an excellent starting point. Our journey together with our customers has lasted for more than 100 years. In the future as well, we will achieve sustainable growth together, taking advantage of the changes in the world.
