Our history dates back 125 years. When Teräsjousi Oy and Holmtek Oy merged in 2000, the name was changed to Meconet. Today, we are a strongly internationalising company, in which different business operations complement each other beneficially. Our customers often use the products of our business operations on a wider scale, which is why we make their life easier based on the one-stop-shop principle.
Small enough while big enough
A low organisational structure that enables quick and flexible decision-making is characteristic to Meconet. Everyone can speak to everyone, and there is no need to hesitate when taking the measures required. We are a company of the right size to be agile, while being large enough to pursue great ends.
Our management system has been elaborated to a significant extent in the spirit of the Lean philosophy. Because of this, we have clear communication channels in place and there is no need for pondering on one’s own. Transparency is the Alpha and Omega of everything. We are driven by the constant desire to meet challenges, to address the elephant in the room. We employ a 6-stage SIM (Short Interval Meeting) system in line with the Lean philosophy that makes in-house communication very efficient. Owing to this, we are always up to date and in the know.
Family business culture
Meconet is a family business. This means that we look really far into the future. Our business is not quarter-based; our perspective is considerably longer. For us, a “quarter” means a quarter of a century, 25 years.
We set goals that are both challenging and realistic. The company’s management is genuinely devoted to achieving them. Family entrepreneurship is visible and included in our operations. Many members of the owner family work for Meconet, in both strategic and operational positions. Through the company’s management, the owners’ voice can be clearly heard.
Meconet is a combination of strong family ownership and professional business management. We see our personnel as a resource deserving the best care and the most productive working conditions. Indeed, we want our employees to be able to influence their work tasks and development. After all, who would know the work better than the workers themselves.

Internationality is also gaining importance on the in-house level. We intend to grow outside Finland more actively; for our personnel, this means exciting tasks and career possibilities abroad. Naturally, the possibility to cycle our skilful personnel between international positions is a competitive advantage on the recruitment market.
